Memory is a curious thing. The general connection of all things through time. Meaning changes and emerges when we look back at our own memories, or those of other people, or those of places even. The narrative we create for ourselves and for everything around us is a magic carpet of constant interpretation and reinterpretation, with only one objective truth: what was will never be again.
I shot the majority of this video long before my collaboration with Occupanther. Back then it was a form of video diary, trying to teach myself to see the things around me that touched my heart and discovering why they felt special to me. When I heard this song, I felt the strong urge to create a video for it, but it took another few months until I made the connections and this emerged. This video and the final form it's taken is an experiment to me. It's an enquiry into a visual language that is less loud and direct and sensational than most of what I make.
